The restaurant is real and has raised controversy because of the name. Owner Jim Andrews refuses to back down and change the name. He plans to hire ex-offenders to work at his place, which no one is opposed to, but the Alderman is upset about the name of the establishment. Johnny B interviewed the owner several times, as well as the alderman. The listeners called in with ideas which I used for lyrics. Jay Leno came up with "Pervert Burger" and my buddy came up with "Chocolate Shank".

I thought this was a funny segment so I made this video.
This song aired 5 times in March 2009 on WLUP 97.9 FM Chicago. I originally submitted it nearly a year ago but it never aired. Then I redid some of the vocals and shortened it- the new version aired 3 times. Then they aired the full original version twice. My first video using other videos directly saved from the web. I am in this video playing 2 different parts.
I believe Johnny's contract is up at the end of this month, which is the end of next week.
I have a gut feeling that Johnny will not be on the air for awhile after this coming Friday 2/27/09, but I'm sure he will turn up again somewhere. It's going to be an interesting week.
If he goes I will be very sad, as a contributor and as a listener. I will miss the whole deal- listening to all the personalities on the show, coming up with ideas, making the songs, checking to see if they get aired, laughing all the way! It has been a wonderful experience and this place, this VOX, has been a big part of it. There are some really cool people here, like beyond cool.

I can't believe they aired this voice mail that I left Monday Jan 5 2009. My impersonation is not good and mildly offensive, and I used a very bad word at they end! I got bleeped mo-fo!!! Hahahahahaha!
They ended up airing 4 of my voice mails between Jan 6 and Jan 15 but I haven't had time to find them, clip them and share them. I also did a song for Senator Burris on the eve of his swearing in ceremony Jan 15. The song, a collaboration with Edwardo, has not yet aired.

It was a crazy week here in Chicago. The police shot a wild cougar 5 blocks from my hood and there was an earthquake (minimal but palpable) April 18 2008.
My stupid voice mail cracked up Johnny B on the radio today 10/29/08! I heard Kent Voss cackling also. After all the times they have made me laugh, it is sweet to make them laugh! Haha! So yeah, today was my 1 year anniversary of having a SONG aired on the radio courtesy Jonathon Brandmeier at WLUP 97.9 FM Chicago. In addition to airing over 30 of my stupid songs, they used to air a lot of my wacky voice mails. Today they aired this immature and ridiculous voice mail which I sent from a non-cordless phone in my office on yesterday. Not only aired it, but aired it 3-4 times. Then at the end of the show, they aired another voice mail (Mental Institution in Manteno) that I left 7 months ago! Wow- what an anniversary!
