With the airing of this song July 1, it has now been 10 straight months in which at least one of my wacky parody songs have been on the radio courtesy of Jonathan Brandmeier WLUP 97.9 FM Chicago The Loop. www.wlup.com
2 stories from the news this week. Bicycles and nail-guns. An idea came to mind last night (June 12) to write a quick song to the tune of "A Bicycle Built for Two". It took about an hour to write the lyrics, record it, mix it and submit it to WLUP. They aired the song at about 7:15 and again at 8:30 this morning. The first airing is very clean and as I hoped would happen, Johnny added the sound of a nail gun perfectly at the end. But during the second airing at 8:30, Johnny inadvertently restarted the song about 3/4 of the way through. I've never heard him do THAT before. Then he was all over the place and forgot about the nail gun. I am now convinced that Johnny was sober at 7:15 and then stoned at 8:30. Why would I say this? He interviewed Tommy Chong in the studio between about 7:30-8:15.
